Rock UP! is a series of technical classes to widen your knowledge and skill level as a climber from belaying to rope work. Pick up things that you may have missed in the past from our experienced instructors. Find out why things are done this way. The current Singapore National Climbing Standards certification courses focus on friction-based belaying devices, but there is a growing trend towards the use of Assisted Braking Belay Devices (ABDs) and while these ABDs are designed to lock down on the rope when a sudden force is applied to it to help the belayer catch and hold a fall; it is important to learn how to use such devices the correct way to become a safe belayer/climbing buddy.
We run taster sessions for abseiling and prusiking that remove the stress of going through the entire course and focus on the fun and exhilarating moments under the watchful eyes of our experienced instructors.

Rock UP! Top Rope ABD class: Participants learn how to use ABDs in a top-rope climb set up, sharpen top-rope belaying skills & experience several scenarios and be equipped to become a safer belayer.

Rock UP! Lead ABD class: Participants learn how to use ABDs in a lead climb set up, sharpen lead climbing & belaying skills & experience several scenarios, and be equipped to become a safer belayer.
Pre-Requisite: Completed SNCS Level 2 course

Rock UP! Abseiling: Participants experience a fun taster session to abseiling without any pre-requisites. Abseiling, the process of descending on a rope. Our friendly instructors will be introducing you to some of the different methods of abseiling, their merits, and safety through our hands-on session.

Rock UP! Prusiking: Participants experience a fun taster session to Prusiking without any pre-requisites. Prusiking is the process of holding on and ascending a rope. Our instructor goes through the different Prusiking techniques, their advantages and disadvantages, and our safe & friendly hands-on session.
